Service to Humanity: Learning That Makes a Difference
At Nancy Campbell Academy, service isn’t just an activity; it’s a core part of our identity. We believe that a meaningful life is found through contributing to the well-being of others. Our community service program is where students put our school’s values into action, developing their character while making a real and positive impact on the world around them.
Our Philosophy: A Commitment to Service
Our commitment to service is rooted in the belief that students should be active agents in bettering their communities. It’s an opportunity to develop individual potential, gain practical work experience, and understand complex social issues firsthand. This hands-on approach to learning helps students build empathy, leadership, and a sense of joyful purpose that lasts a lifetime.

Where Our Students Serve
Our students partner with a wide range of local organizations and lead their own initiatives. Some examples include:
Mentoring Our Youth
Students have ongoing opportunities to work with children and junior youth. This includes acting as volunteer “animators” in the Junior Youth Empowerment Program to help guide youth aged 11-15 and working with “little buddies” on special projects at local elementary schools.
Leading Community Initiatives
Through our World Citizenship Curriculum, senior students lead a real community initiative from start to finish as a capstone project. Younger students also take the lead, such as the Grade 7/8 students who ran a school-wide composting project.

Summer of Service
Even during the summer, our students are active. Past projects have included students mentoring youth and teaching children’s classes in Toronto.
NCA is “a place that cultivates leadership in spades,” praising our students for showing what’s possible when service, integrity and unity guide your life.
A Global Perspective
These vital local and regional projects provide the foundation for a global vision.
They are the domestic counterpart to our international Grade 11 Service Trips, demonstrating our belief that service should be practiced at every level—in our own backyard and around the world.
A Foundation for Life
These capabilities are woven into every aspect of life at Nancy Campbell Academy, from our classrooms to our community service projects. If our mission to develop character alongside intellect resonates with you, we invite you to learn more about joining our community.
