FAQ

Admissions: Frequently Asked Questions

The Application Process

Q: Is there a fee to apply?

A: No, Nancy Campbell Academy does not charge a fee to apply.

A deposit is required later in the process to show good faith and sincerity, which is applied directly to your first year’s tuition upon acceptance.

Q: What is the application deadline?

A: We have a rolling deadline for applications and accept students for intakes in both August and January. We recommend applying as early as possible to ensure a place.

Q: What documents do I need to submit with my application?

A: Along with the completed application form, you will need to provide:

  • copies of the applicant’s most recent school transcripts or report cards from the previous two school years,
  • a copy of the applicant’s passport (photo page only),
  • copy of their updated immunization records.

Q: What is the admissions interview like?

A: The 30-minute interview with one of our Vice-Principals is a friendly and supportive conversation.

It is not a pass-or-fail situation. The interview is designed for us to get to know the student, to see how we can best meet their needs, and to determine if NCA is a good school-student match.

Q: Is the application deposit refundable?

A: If a student is not accepted to Nancy Campbell Academy, the deposit is refunded in full.

Partial refunds apply in specific situations where an international student’s visa is denied or if a family decides not to send an accepted student, or in cases of withdrawal or expulsion.

Student Life & Suitability

Q: What kind of student thrives at NCA?

A: Students who thrive here are often curious, values-driven, and eager to grow.

We welcome students who are open-minded, willing to learn, and ready to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Many of our students are those who may have felt unseen or out of step in larger, more traditional school systems.

Q: My child is not Baha'i. Will they fit in?

A: Yes, absolutely.

We welcome students and families from all faiths and backgrounds.

NCA is not a religious school; rather, it is a school inspired by the universal principles of the Baha’i Faith, such as service to humanity and unity in diversity.

Q: Do you accept students with learning disabilities or an IEP?

A: Yes.

Our application form includes sections to note any learning disabilities or whether a student has an I.E.P. (Individualized Education Plan).

Because our classes are small, we can often provide the close-knit community and assistance students may need. The admissions interview is a key part of determining if we can meet a student’s specific needs.

Q: Is there a community service requirement?

A: Yes.

A core part of our philosophy is learning through service to others. All students are required to perform a minimum of fifty hours of community service each year.

Academics & Outcomes

Q: What curriculum do you follow?

A: Nancy Campbell Academy follows the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, ensuring students meet rigorous academic standards and are prepared for post-secondary success worldwide.

Q: What is the average class size?

A: We are a micro-school by design. Most classes have between 10-15 students, which allows our teachers to provide plenty of individual attention.

Q: Where do NCA graduates go after graduation?

A: We have a consistent 100% university placement rate.

Our students are often awarded substantial university scholarships and are accepted at top-ranking universities in Canada and around the world.

Tuition & Financial Aid

Q: How much does it cost to attend?

A: We have different tuition rates for day students, domestic boarding students, and international boarding students.

For a complete and detailed breakdown of all tuition and ancillary fees, please see our dedicated Tuition & Fees page.

Q: Is financial aid available?

A: Yes.

Making an NCA education accessible is a priority. Each year, we make over $570,000 in need-based financial aid available through the Nancy Campbell Scholarship Foundation.

Approximately 20% of our students receive financial aid.
