The Pre-School Reunion & Training Week
Every year, the week before school officially begins, our entire staff comes together. It is a time to reunite as a community, to learn new skills that will help us in our work, and to collaborate in small groups to plan and integrate our curriculum for the year ahead. This shared experience ensures that every member of our team, in every role, is aligned with our school’s mission from day one.
Weekly Collaborative Reflection
The learning and collaboration continue all year long. Every week, our staff gathers for a meeting to reflect on our students, share important updates, and discuss what’s happening at the school. These regular meetings allow us to recognize where students are emotionally when working with them academically, coordinate our efforts to manage their workload, and work together to foster a true “ecosystem of mentoring.”
Ongoing Facilitator Training
Beyond our weekly meetings, our staff receives specific training to be guides and facilitators, not just instructors. A key example is our Wildfire program, where teachers learn how to facilitate discussions on complex topics, adapt their teaching to individual learning styles, and create a non-hierarchical environment where students feel empowered to participate.
