What is Baha’i Inspired

Inspired by Principle. Welcoming to All.

At Nancy Campbell Academy, we welcome students and families from all faiths and backgrounds. We are not a religious school that teaches a single denomination. Instead, we are a community built on a shared moral framework that is inspired by the universal principles of the Baha’i Faith—principles like unity, service to humanity, and justice.

Our Guiding Philosophy

Our founders were inspired by the Baha’i belief that education should develop the whole person—not just the mind, but the heart and character as well. This Baha’i-inspired ethos informs our school’s culture and curriculum, but the Baha’i Faith itself is not part of our academic program. Our focus is on the universal values that help young people become compassionate, thoughtful, and responsible global citizens.

You will notice that spirituality is a natural and respected part of our conversation at NCA. We believe that building a student’s “inner architecture” and moral compass is a vital part of preparing them for a happy and meaningful life. This may take the form of discussing spiritual well-being in a class or ending an assembly with student-led devotions, where contributions from all beliefs are honored and welcomed. Our goal is never to preach, but to create a supportive space where students can explore the moral and ethical questions that will shape their lives.

Our Principles in Action

Our Baha’i-inspired principles are not just abstract ideas; they are woven into the fabric of our school and brought to life through our unique programs.

Service to Humanity

The belief that a meaningful life is found through service to humankind is a central tenet that inspires our requirement that each student carry out 50 hours of community service per year.

The 19 Moral Capabilities

Our focus on developing the 19 moral capabilities—such as empathy, integrity, and critical thinking—is a direct expression of this Baha’i-inspired commitment to character development.

World Citizenship Curriculum

Our unique World Citizenship Curriculum, which deepens learning through service and social justice, is rooted in the Baha’i principle of world citizenship and the oneness of humanity.

A Community of Unity in Diversity

Our motto, “Unity in Diversity,” is more than just a phrase; it is a lived reality at NCA. We believe that by bringing together youth from all over the world, we can foster the understanding and respect necessary to build a better, more peaceful world. Our aim is not to promote a single religion, but to create a caring community where students from all backgrounds feel inspired, seen, and empowered to work shoulder to shoulder.
